What Is Assisi Cross Stitch?Assisi is a town in Italy in province of Perugia,approximately 90 miles north of Rome. The first evidences of the Assisi stitch go back to the XIV century. This stitch is the result of the combination of two embroidery technques: backstitch ( for the borders) and cross stitch( for the background).
